The MOC3021 is an optically isolated Triac driver designed for triggering TRIACs in AC power control applications. It features a photodiode and a TRIAC driver in a single 6-pin DIP package. Operating in random-phase mode, the MOC3021 is ideal for switching AC loads such as lamps, motors, and other inductive or resistive loads, offering safe isolation between control logic and high-voltage AC systems.
