The CD4047 IC combines a gateable astable multivibrator with logic techniques for monostable operation, offering retriggering and external counting options. Inputs include +TRIGGER, -TRIGGER, ASTABLE, ASTABLE, RETRIGGER, and EXTERNAL RESET. Buffered outputs (Q and Q) and an OSCILLATOR output ensure versatile usage. External R and C components determine timing functions.
In astable mode, a high level on ASTABLE or low level on ASTABLE\ enables oscillation. The OSCILLATOR output period is half that of the Q output, though a 50% duty cycle isn’t guaranteed.
In monostable mode, a positive edge on +TRIGGER with -TRIGGER held low initiates triggering. Input pulse duration doesn’t affect the output pulse.
