Description

The Laser Fence Security System is an educational STEM project that demonstrates the working principle of a laser-based intrusion detection system. The project uses a laser diode aimed at a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR). Under normal conditions, the laser beam continuously falls on the LDR. When an object interrupts the laser beam, the change in light intensity is detected by the electronic circuit, activating a buzzer to indicate an intrusion.

Working Principle

  1. The laser diode continuously emits a beam toward the LDR.
  2. Mirrors can be used to redirect the laser beam around the protected area.
  3. While the beam reaches the LDR, the circuit remains inactive.
  4. When an object interrupts the beam, the LDR resistance changes.
  5. The BC547 transistor switches ON.
  6. The buzzer sounds, indicating an intrusion.
